Maya House, Inc. is a referral-based, recovery-informed transitional housing program for adults experiencing housing instability in Worcester County, Massachusetts. Residents receive six to twenty-four months of structured housing, individualized support, accountability, and assistance preparing for permanent housing.
Why we exist
Maya House exists to close the distance between crisis and a lease, with housing, structure, and services held together long enough to hold.
Emergency shelter keeps people alive. Treatment interrupts a crisis. Neither is designed to carry someone through the eighteen months in which a life is actually rebuilt: the paperwork, the first paycheck, the recovery appointments, the repaired relationships, the credit history, the landlord who says yes.
That is the stretch Maya House covers. Residents arrive by referral from shelters, courts, hospitals, and treatment providers. They stay six to twenty-four months, move through five structured phases, and leave with housing they can keep, with our number still in their phone.

Who runs Maya House
A small staff and a working board: people who have lived the distance between crisis and a lease, and people who know how to build organizations that last.
Homes on ordinary streets
Maya House residences are shared houses in residential Worcester County neighborhoods, not facilities. Private or shared bedrooms, a common kitchen, a porch, house meetings, and staff on site. Neighbors are neighbors.
