Most of the people who come to Maya House have already done the hardest part. They have decided to change their lives. What they are missing is not willpower. It is a stable place to stand while they do the work.

I have sat across the table from people on their first day here (leaving shelter, leaving treatment, leaving incarceration) and I can tell you the question they ask is never "will this be easy?" It is "will this be real?" Real structure. Real expectations. A real address they can put on a job application.

That is what we built Maya House to be. Not a bed for a night, and not a promise without a plan: a shared home in Worcester County where adults spend six to twenty-four months moving through five phases, from stabilization to independent living, with staff on site and a community around them.

We hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of our residents: accountability. We track housing retention, income at exit, program completion, connection to primary care, and returns to homelessness, and we will publish what we measure. When we ask funders and partners to trust us, we intend to earn it with evidence.
