Jess A.

Jess A. is a social justice advocate originally from South Texas. After completing her degree in international studies and peace studies at the University of North Texas, she went on to earn a master's from the Heller School of Social Policy and Management. She has spent time at The Carter Center, Oxfam, and the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security working on various elements of campaigns and political analysis. Prior to working in social justice spaces she worked at The Hartford, Wells Fargo, and USAA.

Growing up in an underprivileged community in San Antonio, Texas, she is well acquainted with housing insecurity and has herself experienced it throughout her life. She is passionate about equitable and dignified housing for all people. Outside this arena of her professional life, she is a PEN / Pushcart nominated writer and poet who has been published in various journals, both digitally and in print.
