Who we serve

Adults ready for structure, not for another waiting list.

Maya House serves adults experiencing housing instability who are prepared to live in a shared, community-based home and work a structured plan toward permanent housing.

Preparing for launch

Maya House is currently preparing for program launch and is not yet accepting resident applications. We welcome inquiries from prospective referral, service, housing, and funding partners.

Eligibility

Five criteria

All five must be met at intake. Referring partners screen against them before submitting.

i.
18 and older, experiencing housing instabilityIncluding people leaving shelter, treatment, incarceration, or an unsafe living situation.
ii.
Income, or a clear pathway to incomeEmployment, benefits, disability income, or an active plan to obtain one within the first phase.
iii.
Able to live in a shared, community-based houseAble to participate in house meetings, shared chores, curfew, and communal living with other residents.
iv.
Working toward permanent housing over 6–24 monthsMaya House is transitional by design. Residents enter with the intention of leaving for their own housing.
v.
Willing to participate in individualized goal planning and case managementEach resident works an individual plan with staff: regular meetings, milestones, and accountability throughout the program.
Referral sources

Entry is referral only

We do not accept walk-in applications. A referral from a partner organization means someone with a professional relationship to the person is vouching for readiness and staying involved after placement.

Fit

When another program is the right call

Saying so plainly saves everyone time, most of all the person being referred. Maya House is not the right setting when someone needs a level of care we cannot safely provide. In those cases we will say so quickly and, wherever we can, point the referring partner toward a better match.

Active medical detox

Detox and acute stabilization happen before a Maya House placement, not during one.

24-hour clinical care

We are staffed housing, not a treatment facility or a nursing setting.

Immediate emergency shelter

Intake takes days, not hours. Someone unsheltered tonight needs a shelter tonight.

Help someone finish the sentence.

Give, volunteer, refer a resident, or bring your organization into the referral network. Every route ends the same way: someone keeps their housing.
